ECDF @ Berlin Science Week 2023

"Dare to know" is the motto of this year's Berlin Science Week. As usual, the international science festival will take place from November 1 to 10, 2023. The ECDF is represented with various events and scientists on diverse topics of digitalization research:

ECDF Professor Helena Mihaljević (HTW) will be present at the event "Dare to know, need to know, want to know: how much data collection can there be?". Data accumulates in almost all areas of life, is digitally recorded and analyzed. What do we know about it, what makes sense, where are the boundaries? Daring To Explore Quantum Creativity

On November 08, 2023, the Goethe Institute Ireland will be hosted at ECDF with a performance and discussion on innovation in the arts and the potential of quantum creativity. During the event, visual artist Roman Lipski will present his innovative work on "Quantum Blur", a technique for manipulating images using quantum operations, and discuss it with Prof. Dr. Tim Schröder (Head of the Integrated Quantum Photonics Group, HU Berlin). After further performances by international artists, ECDF speaker Gesche Joost will close the evening with a short impulse on the potential of quantum technologies and interdisciplinary creativity. //more

 

2 Years Sustain.All - A Collaborative Lab on Sustainable Development Goals at the TU Berlin

Learn about the world of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and more than 15 inspiring SDG projects that have been created in the Sustain.ALL Collaboration Lab at TU Berlin over the last two years. ECDF Professor Andrea Cominola (TU Berlin), his team and partners will present different projects and concepts to jointly address social and technical challenges such as carbon emissions. Among the projects presented are the Task Force Energie Berlin, which is working on the development and implementation of a user-centered energy saving concept for the summer months at TU Berlin, and other projects. //more
