Lecture series "Digital Education in Focus"

Prof. Dr. Dr. Ayad Al-Ani will be the guest of the lecture series "Digital Education in Focus" at the Fernuni Hagen on May 6, 2021. The event will take place online on Zoom from 4 to 7 p.m. and will be on the topic of "New Learning, New Work, and the Shaping of Learning Culture."

Digital education has become a concrete challenge for schools and universities since the beginning of the Corona pandemic. However, not only have the deficits come into focus, but also the creative potentials. Long before Corona, it was clear that digital education does not begin and end in educational institutions. Rather, it touches on professional and private contexts and describes central needs of the labor market. And it is directly linked to new forms of learning.

Accordingly, "digital education," "new learning" and "new work" belong together. But what exactly do these terms mean? How do content, demands and concepts shift in different settings and constellations? And what conclusions can be drawn for the necessary design of learning cultures?

In a dialogical format, the transdisciplinary lecture series will focus on three keywords that can be understood as a link and characterization term in the context of digital education, new learning and new work.

Speaker (Input): Uwe Elsholz (FernUniversität in Hagen)
Guest (Commentary): Ayad Al-Ani (Einstein Center Digital Future, Berlin)

The event follows on from the Hagen Manifesto on New Learning and aims to further promote and deepen the debate that has been initiated.
