Machines of the future are not intended to replace humans, but to support them. The goal here is to combine the respective strengths of humans and machines. Intelligent machines can relieve humans of strenuous, dangerous and monotonous work and make production processes more efficient, flexible, sustainable and resilient.
In technical terms, it involves linking sensor data, physical-mathematical models and data analysis with the aid of artificial intelligence (AI). Autonomous machines are thus enabled to recognize their environment, react to their surroundings and make decisions about what to do next.
As part of the Berlin Science Week, the panel discussion aims to provide answers to how and intelligent machines can help meet future challenges, such as resource conservation, climate protection or labor shortages.
